Phil showing the friendly way to lunge "PJ"
Phil Rodey, one of Australia’s most renowned and respected horsemen is coming to Wauchope to conduct a 2 day horsemanship clinic at the Wauchope Showgrounds on the 28th and 29th November.
Local horsemen and women will be amazed at the skill level Phil will demonstrate as he takes course participants through his own blend of unique horsemanship techniques.
Phil spends most of his time travelling to remote stations in SA & WA teaching Jackaroos, Jillaroos and ringers the art of true horsemanship, rounding up brumbies, starting them for the station hands to use on their properties and conducting cow working and horsemanship clinics at his property in Dalwood.
Local Beechwood girl Kalya Hugen travelled to Dalwood to attend one of Phil’s clinics earlier this year and came away with more knowledge than she would ever have believed she could have picked up in just two day.
The clinic is being organised locally by Bronwyn Flinn, who has recently called Beechwood “home”.
“I have been schooling, riding, starting horses and attending numerous clinics around Australia and NZ for over 40 years, and never have I had the privilege of witnessing such a level of communication and understanding of a horse as I saw when watching Phil – he is a living legend and a true gentleman – he is Australia’s Brannaman, Hunt and Dorrance all rolled into one package”.
Phil runs very select courses with only a small number of participants to maintain that “one-on-one” relationship with his students. There are limited spaces still available for riders but spectators can also attend.
